A lumberjack who works long hours in the woods
Scottish men from the 1500s who lived in the mountains
Alicia Sylverstone in the movie Clueless
A bunch of hipsters at a bar in Uptown
Or my sister circa 1995 pretending to be cool listening to Nirvana, yelling at me to leave her alone.
What do all these people have in common?
You guessed it; plaid! It is a trend that has survived hundreds of years and several different demographics of people. It has never really gone out of style. The 1850s though is when it really took off in the US. Woolrich Woolen Mills came out with a buffalo plaid shirt that was durable, warm and could make any guy who wore it look like this..
Okay so maybe not.. BUT who doesn’t love the look of Buffalo Plaid!? Fun fact: it is named that because the designer owned a herd of buffalo.
Here at Market on Oak we are fully embracing this hot trend right now. We have everything from apparel, jewelry, and home décor that is adorning it. Here are some of my favorites.
We have so many different ponchos and shawls in store. There is sure to be one to match your taste
Scarves and hats to help you stay warm AND stylish
You won't look like a lumberjack wearing these adorable sweaters!
And we can NOT forget about Holiday and Home Décor!
